How to Design Professional Business Cards That Get Noticed?

Use business cards to market your company successfully and improve your customer base. Both businesses and individuals can use them as their marketing tool to share important contact details.

Professional business cards are a crucial aspect of your brand and are often the first thing people come across when they interact with your company. To create a memorable impression, you need to ensure you are designing it right. So, here are some design tips you should follow.

1. Keep It Clean and Simple

Business cards are still important in our digitally-driven world. However, you need to ensure that it is clean and simple. A cluttered card can confuse your recipient. While designing local business card printing, you should focus on the essential elements. Use white spaces in the design strategically to ensure it is readable. Keeping it clean and simple ensures that the contact details stand out.

2. Choose What to Add

Business cards are small in size. Hence, it is essential to be concise and just add the most crucial details. Keep it simple with just the name of the company along with the logo, phone number, email address, and website URL. Also, consider including your office address, too, if you have one. Know that your business cards are double-sided. So, you can put the logo on one side and the other details on the other side.

3. Use High-Quality Paper

The weight, texture, and finish of the business card can create a memorable impression. Choosing the right material contributes to its look and feel. It shows that you care about the details.

Choosing a strong cardstock ensures it feels sturdy in your hand. A paper that weighs 300-350gsm is generally a good choice for business cards. You can choose either matte or glossy finish for your business card. Matte finish gives the card a non-reflective and clean look. This makes the information inside more readable. Glossy paper, on the other hand, can improve the vibrancy of the images and colors. Consider the personality of the brand you want to convey while choosing the paper.

4. Include QR Codes for Easy Access

By adding a QR code, you can give your card a digital touchpoint as it keeps you at the forefront of the minds of potential customers. With a QR code, you can direct your customers directly to a landing page or homepage, where you have highlighted your key offerings. You can also use them to offer a personal welcome message that introduces your brand and displays the products or services you offer. With QR codes, you can direct your customers to a page with a special discount or promotion.

5. Use Both Sides of the Card

You have two sides of the card available to you. Use both. If you have to communicate a lot of details to your customers, using the back of the business card is an effective way to do that without spoiling the design. You can add your contact details, or helpful facts, or tips about your company. This can be an effective way to show your creative skills. However, just ensure whatever detail you decide to add is legible to the recipient.

6. Consider Adding a CTA

CTA gives your target customers a clear idea of what you would like them to do. When they are checking out a website, they are directed to complete a purchase or subscribe to a newsletter. But you can add a CTA in your speciality business cards that invites your potential customers to get in touch or visit your store. Create a sense of urgency through the CTA. This is particularly helpful for those contacts that might not have met in person.

7. Use Creative Shapes and Finishes

Take one step further to make sure your card stands out in the crowd by giving it a unique shape or finish. For instance, you can give the card rounded corners. It will give your card some personality and flair. With special finishes, you can further improve the visual appeal of the cards. Laminate it to create a velvety and soft texture.
