- Open the File Explorer app on your desktop and locate the EML file where it’s saved on your device.
- Right-click on the file and click on the “Rename” option.
- Now, erase the.eml extension and rename it with.mht extension. Then, in the dialog box, click on the “Yes” button.
- Once the file format changes, double-click on the file. It will open with the Internet Explorer application or the Microsoft Edge or any other default browser installed on your device.
- After the email message opens with any of your browsers, press “Ctrl” and “S” together.
- Specify any location on your device and change the extension to.html. Then click on the “Save” button.
As a result, your EML message will be converted into an HTML file and saved on your device. But the limitation is: you will lose the original structure of your email.
Method 2: Using the Outlook desktop application
This method is quite better than the previous method. Because this method doesn’t hamper the original structure of your emails. But before you start, make sure you have the Outlook application configured on your device.
- First, open the Outlook application on your device. Then right-click and create a new folder on your Outlook account.
- Locate the EML files on your device. Drag and drop them to the Outlook folder that you have created on the previous step.
- Now, select a single email, and at the top-left corner, click on the “File” tab.
- From the left sidebar, click on the “Save As” button.
- Once the “Save As” wizard opens, here in the “Save as type” field, select the “HTML” format and click on the “Save” button.
Hence, you can convert your EML files to HTML format using the Outlook desktop application. But with the Outlook application, you can’t save multiple emails in HTML format at a time.
